deep fried turkey is the best thing since sliced b…

Posted by titusferguson on November 26, 2004

deep fried turkey is the best thing since sliced bread. I had one tonight and it was just amazing. Not greasy at all, just very moist.

The turkey’s skin cooks almost as soon as you drop it into the oil, causing its juices to remain trapped. This creates an amazing flavour.

Suprisingly it cooks really quickly too. About 2.5 minutes per pound.

I leave you with this: What activity will cause the most visits to the emergency ward this American thanksgiving? Deep frying turkeys! Apparently people get burned all the time. Or they’ll cook them in their garage and blow up their car; or the whole house.

mmmm so full and stuffed, stuffed and full…..

Lets all get up and dance to a song that was a hit before you mother was born

Although she was born a long long time ago

Your mother should know

Magical Mystery Tour is a great album. Everyone should own it. From what I hear though, the movie was a failure. (What can you expect when you fill a bus with freaks a weirdos and drive around the English countryside?)

Speaking of the English, it’s raining now. I hate the rain. I feel like I’m living in England.

I also hate Mondays and Wednesdays. Thats when I have class at 9. Then I have an hour to kill before my next class.

While at City Lights on Saturday, (must post about…

Posted by titusferguson on November 22, 2004

While at City Lights on Saturday, (must post about City Lights some time) I picked up the most hilarious book ever. It’s called “How to Be A Canadian” and is by Ian and Will Ferguson.

Its so funny I feel the need to post a part from it:

“As a fledgling Canadian, you will have to be extra-vigilant. There are lots of imposters out there. If you suspect that someone is falsely trying to pass themselves off as a Canadian, make the following statement – and then carefully note the reaction:

Last night, I cashed my pogey and went to buy a mickey of C.C. at the beer parlour, but my skidoo got stuck in the muskeg on my way back to the duplex. I was trying to deke out a deer, you see. Damn chinook, melted everything. And then a Mountie snuck up behind me in a ghost car and gave me an impaired. I was S.O.L. , sitting there dressed only in my Standfelds and a touque at the time. And the Mountie, he’s all chippy and everything, calling me a “shit disturber” and whatnot. What could I say except “Chimo”!

If the person you are talking to nods sympathetically, they’re one of us. If, however, they stare at you with blank incomprehension, they are not a real Canadian. Have them reported to the authorities at once.”

Isn’t that just great! Alright, loyal readers, what does it say?

Ryan Mercer

Music For Car Commercials

Forged Medical Records

Ryan Mercer has better like what he does for a living, because no one else will.

The main problem with Music For Car Commercials is that the vocals sound like a beached whale. Mercer’s style of screeching is laid overtop decent beats mixed by a mysterious fellow named Mike T. who probably didn’t want his last name revealed on this rotten album.

Posted by titusferguson on November 19, 2004

blogging is hard work. I’ve decided then just to post random thoughts. I’m not even going to really think about what I’m posting. No longer will I try to come up with some interesting theory or discussion.

but I digress….. I know someone who clenches their jaw when they start to think about something really hard for a long time, then this person has to crack thier jaw… why I don’t know.

Speaking of crack. I was at a “christian” bookstore tonight and was reading a book about the 80’s. This book was taking about what was “buzz” in that decade. Apparently it was crack, homlessness and AIDS. What about me. I was in the 80’s. Why didn’t people talk about me?

In other news I got five points yesterday. So I beat you.

Well back again. While sitting in class today…

Posted by titusferguson on November 15, 2004

Well back again.

While sitting in class today I realised that have two assignments for chemistry and physics labs due Wednesday and Thursday of this week. So a friend and I decided to divy up the work. I was supposed to send him my part this afternoon. I’m so lazy though I haven’t got around to it.

I started cleaning my computer up instead and I realised that I have quite the collection of indie films. Many of them Matrix parodies. I think I went through a faze when I thought they were very cool.

I do have one film thats pretty neat. Its a documentary about Ron English. He’s a freaky artist who highjacks billboards and puts his own art on it. Check this out for more info: POPaganda

Well I should go do that physics lab stuff thingamabob…..

Posted by titusferguson on November 12, 2004

Well well, since I missed a post yesterday I’ve slipped into second place. Or that could also be considered last place. Thats kinda depressing.

Know what else is depressing, actually not really depressing just kinda odd. Its been freaky cold here, ok not really “freaky” since it is November, just not nice cold. But anyways its cold. So yesterday well at school I saw all sorts of girls wearing the most unusual clothes for said weather. I mean on girl was wearing a mini-skirt and had bear legs, well everyone around her was bundled up in winter jackets. Maybe she has some really high rate of metabolism that keeps her warm….

I got some advice the other day on “hurting hands”. Apparently you have to stretch before you blog, at leasts that what all the “serious” bloggers do. I think thats crock.

Well should probably go do something now… what, I don’t know

I am quite a slacker when it comes to posting on t…

Posted by titusferguson on November 11, 2004

I am quite a slacker when it comes to posting on this blog. It seems I only post when people say things that really bug me and I need to answer them. Blogging seems to be the easiest way to do that.

All this is going to change though! A friend and I have entered into a blog challange. Who can write the most words in a month. There are rules though. No posting more then once per day. No… Umm… Okay maybe those were all the rules. But thats fine you don’t need rules to have fun. In fact the less rules you have the funner it’ll be. Another option is to see who is the coolest. We will not be detered by the utter relativness of said challenge though

On the subject of fun. I finally finished my exams on Monday. Just in time to start studying for the christmas ones. However I don’t think I’ll start right away though. A little time off will be most enjoyed.

I saw R.E.M. on Tuesday night. An absolutly amazing show, with quite good seats. I’ll post more on that later cause right now my hands are starting to hurt.

This will be a long month if my hands start hurting this quickly

Some people have attempted to use insult Bush by i…

Posted by titusferguson on November 4, 2004

Some people have attempted to use insult Bush by insulting the intelligence of his voters. Sadly those stats are actually incorrect as these pages nicely show. Mind you the data is four years old, but the web page has been updated in the last couple of months so I feel the numbers are still acurate.

Its interesting how some people seek to discredit others….

As well, I read one of the best quotes about the election today. Lawrence Lessig is a copyright lawyer from the Sates. And a Democrat.

“Wrong, wrong, yet again, I was, we are, wrong. I was on an airplane last night, from SFO to London, so at least I didn’t suffer the minute by minute awfulness of this result. But it’s 5am PST, and we should remember some principles: When Bush ‘lost’ in 2000, we said it was because (1) he had lost the popular vote, and (2) he had short circuited the count in one state to win in the College.

Bush has won the popular vote. And it would take a freak of nature to imagine the 220,000 provisional ballots would fall strongly enough to shift Ohio. He will win the College. He is our President — legitimately, and credibly.

Our criticism of this administration must now focus narrowly and sharply: on the policies, not on the credibility of the man.”

I thought this to be quite a humble and respectful thing to say. However I am struck by his last sentence. Shouldn’t Democrats already have been focused on Bush’s policies for the past four years?

Some people have been inquiring about my sources f…

Posted by titusferguson on November 2, 2004

Some people have been inquiring about my sources for my previous article.

On Monday November 1st As It Happens, a CBC current events show, aired an interview with an Arab Scholar (I’ve been unable to find his name). This interview was the basis for much of my post. Hopefully a transcript will be online in the near future. For anyone interested the whole transcript of Bin Laden’s message is available on Al Jazeers site

On Tuesday November 2nd, The Boston Globe printed an article discussing the effects Bin Laden’s tape would have on the American election. They came to the conclusion that however much Bin Laden meant to effect the election, at the end of the day the American people are not going to be convinced of his position. It is my opinion that the there will be an opposite reaction, see post below.

The Globe theorised however Bin Laden’s most recent tape will work better in the Middle East then it will in North America. Arabs will see Bin Laden as a champion of Arab and Muslim rights globally. (Don’t many of them already believe that?)

I eagerly await tonights results to see if I’m correct.
